New Referee Information
Welcome to all our new referee volunteers! The success and depth of our program relies upon the participation of our community and even more specifically the number of trained and available referees who officiate our children's games. Thanks for getting involved.
Our Referee meetings are on 8/18 for adults and 9/8 at 7pm at the Burlingame Park & Rec for your youth volunteers. If you have any questions, please contact Jim or Rick, contact information below.

Current Ref Training Schedule:2010 AYSO Area Referee Training Schedule
Hello to all interested referees. If you are a returning referee, thank you. If you are new or interested, welcome aboard. Refereeing is crucial to making the games safe, fun and fair. Plus it is fun. For new referees, we have 2 exciting programs designed to help you become a full fledged referee and to do so in a safe, supportive and educational environment.
U8
This is the starting point for referees that haven’t had any previous experience. You will need to take the U8 referee course. Each game will be refereed by 2 U8 trained referees. Each game will be monitored and mentored by an experienced referee. Their job will be to answer questions about the laws of the game. They will help you with game management before, during and after the match. They will mentor you and provide feedback on the basics of the game and refereeing. Finally they will be there to make sure that coaches and spectators maintain appropriate standards of behavior.
U10
This is the next level in referee training. You will need to take the Basic referee course. At the beginning of the season, you will partner up with an experienced referee who will referee with you and be your mentor through the season. Your mentor will provide feedback and guidance help you progress from A/R to center referee.
So now what to do?
1. Volunteer forms: Go to https://www.eayso.org/ and sign up as a volunteer. Print out 2 copies and send them, together with a photocopy of your driver's license, to: Nigel Walker, 20 Howland Hill Lane, Burlingame, CA 94010. The photocopy will be destroyed once the details given on the volunteer form have been checked. Save your AYSO ID #
2. Complete Safe Haven: Sign up at http://www.aysotraining.org/
3. Sign up for the appropriate referee training class. Sign up through https://www.eayso.org/ . Use your AYSO ID #. You will also need the class ID #. See the attached ref schedule. U8 class allows you to referee U8 games. The Basic referee class covers the U8 material plus offside and allows you to referee at the U10 level both as AR and referee (center)
