FALL 2026 REGISTRATION

Fall 2026 Season Registration

Registration Form Below

Built by the families of our community, for the children of our community.

AYSO soccer is all about kids having fun, staying active, and being part of our shared community. We keep things simple, welcoming, and low-pressure—because we believe every kid should get to play, grow, and love the game, no matter their experience or skill level.  We offer year-round soccer programs for players of all types.

The Burlingame AYSO is a 100% volunteer-run program, created by Burlingame parents like you, who care deeply about providing a positive, healthy, and development-focused experience for every child. Our coaches are trained to support players with encouragement and age-appropriate instruction—not pressure. Teams are balanced to ensure fairness, inclusion, and lots of touches on the ball for every player.  And Everyone Plays—every game.

More than just a soccer league, the Burlingame AYSO is a chance for kids to build confidence, make friends, and discover the joy of team sports in a safe, supportive environment. And for parents who want to get involved—whether by coaching, refereeing, or helping behind the scenes—it’s a rewarding way to connect with your child’s journey and contribute to something meaningful to them and to our community.

If you’re looking for a joyful, low-stress way for your child to spend their Saturdays, come and join us!  Registration is open now—we’d love to welcome your whole family to the field!

Registration Dates

Registration for the fall season is open NOW.  (Scroll down to register!)  Registration closes on June 30th.  After 6/30, registration may be possible for divisions that need a couple of additional players, or you may be waitlisted in case spots open up.  There is no charge to join the waitlist nor any obligation to complete registration if you make it off the waitlist - so please don't hesitate to join it.  Our ability to add players from the waitlist largely depends on having enough coaches, so if you’re interested in volunteering, that’s the best way to get your player (and likely many others) a chance to play fall soccer.  Register to volunteer in your burlingameayso.org account.

Who Can Play?

With divisions from "4U" through the end of high school, we have a place for all of Burlingame's kids!  (Technically, that's kids with birthdays between August 1, 2007 and September 19th, 2023.)
Recreational and competitive players alike are welcome.  Even reluctant athletes—we'll show them how much fun sports can be!
Players are assigned to divisions based on the US Youth Soccer Federation's new school year standards, no longer by birthyear.  The registration system will place your player in the correct division based on this standard, so don't worry about the division name.

How Much Does It Cost?

By far the best soccer value around!  For most divisions, 5U-19U (kids born between 8/1/2007 and 7/31/2022):

NO CHARGE TO JOIN WAITLIST & NO OBLIGATION TO REGISTER IF WAITLISTED

(*The city requires us to collect an extra $90/player from non-residents, despite the fact that we love our neighbors every bit as much as our Burlingame-based players.  100% of these funds are passed along to the city as required.)

The 4U division (kids born between 8/1/2022 and 9/19/2023) has different pricing:
$150 for Burlingame residents, $240 for non-residents.
(If your child was born on or before 9/18/2023, we will look forward to playing with them in a future season, perhaps even the spring of 2027.)

Financial assistance is available, and no player will be excluded from AYSO soccer due to insufficient funds. Please email [email protected] to apply.

Volunteer Participation

The AYSO runs on volunteers—parents like you, parents like us ... we're what makes it so special! When you step up as a coach or referee, you're not just helping make the season possible—you’re becoming part of your child’s experience in a truly meaningful way. No prior experience is needed—we provide all the training and support you’ll need. Whether you're on the sidelines guiding a team or on the field helping keep the game flowing, your presence makes a difference for every kid out there. Volunteering is rewarding, fun, and a great way to connect with the Burlingame community.  (You know how they say it's hard to make friends as an adult?  You're virtually guaranteed to make friends by joining us!)

All 10U teams require referee points to advance to the Burlingame Cup. In addition, players who wish to participate in other post-season tournaments will be required to have parent-referees to help at the tournaments.

    •  Every Friday during the regular fall season, our UK coaches will host "just for fun" scrimmages after school for kids in our 7U-14U divisions.  (Separated by age.)  They're a great opportunity to play with friends and classmates, and get some extra touches in.  Simple, fun, low-pressure play -- exactly what the kids want.

      • Note: 10U teams only qualify for the Burlingame Cup tournament if they have achieved sufficient referee points
    • Teams that win will go on to represent Burlingame in (free) tournaments in December!

Registration Priority

  • Children of coaches/referees/volunteers/field liners have priority; first come, first serve otherwise.
  •  Divisions do fill up, so please register today if you want your child to be able to participate.

Waitlists

  • Occasionally, we have so many players register that it exceeds the number of teams we have volunteer coaches for.  In these situations, we may waitlist players until we can find a roster spot for them.
  • No payment is due if your player is put on the waitlist.
  • You will receive an email when your player is removed from the waitlist, at which time you will need to return to your account to pay.  (Please watch for the email - if we don't get a reply after a few days, we will have to cancel your order and move on to the next waitlisted player.)
  • The best way to ensure that your player isn't waitlisted is to volunteer - please consider it!  No experience is necessary and we provide all the training and support you need.

Team Assignments, Practices & Games

Team assignments will be made after registration closes on June 30th and we have confirmed that we have enough coaches to create teams.  We expect to release rosters in mid-July but we can't finalize any team until all teams are finalized, and we can't finalize teams until we have enough coaches to assign all players to teams.

If we are approaching the first week of practices without enough coaches, players that registered last will not be assigned to teams.  Players with parents volunteering as coaches or board members will always have a spot on a team.

4U - 6U teams have one hybrid practice/scrimmage session on Saturdays at Washington Park
7U - 19U
teams practice once a week with one match per week (*except for the 10U-14U double header weekend)
Practice times and field locations are based on coach and field availability.

Team assignments are final. A coach cannot change a player's team assignment and cannot add players to any team. (Violation of this rule will result in immediate removal from any involvement in our soccer program.) We reserve the right to adjust teams to maintain team balance.
Team assignments are not based upon school schedules, carpool needs, or any criteria other than achieving balanced teams.

Practice and Game Attendance

One of the core philosophies of AYSO is "Balanced Teams." We balance teams at the beginning of the season to promote fun play for all. If there are players on the team that have other commitments and don't show up very often, this creates a negative experience for the team, and ultimately for the opposing team. Not having a full roster on game day can lead to unbalanced teams and often leads to teams not having enough players to field a full team, or no subs on a hot day.  If your player does not expect to attend many games, please consider the effect on their team before registering.

FAQs

Why can't you tell me my player's schedule when we register?
The reason that we don't have the schedule yet is the following:
  1. For 10U and above, we balance teams.
  2. We need to know who is playing in order to balance the teams.
  3. We can't form teams until registration closes on 6/30.
  4. Therefore we can't balance teams until we have closed registration.
  5. Once the teams are formed, volunteer coaches are assigned to the teams.
  6. Once a coach has a team, they choose a practice slot.
  7. Then the coach emails parents with the practice slot.
  8. Game schedules are formed once teams are formed. All games are on Saturdays.  (*Except for the 10U-14U doubleheader weekend and the tournaments as noted above.)
We have a number of FAQs addressed here if you have other questions

Refunds

Through June 15th, full refunds less a $30 processing fee are available. June 15-June 30, refunds of 50% (less the processing fee) are available. Starting July 1st, we will be building team rosters and no refunds will be offered for any reason, even if your schedule does not permit you to attend yet-to-be-scheduled team events.

About Our 4U Program

Introducing the 2025 AYSO 4U "Playground" program:

AYSO "Playground" is a child development program. The objective of this program is to help develop a child’s Fundamental Motor Skills (FMS) in collaboration with parents or guardians, using soccer as a common thread. Children should be exposed to a wide base of FMS in their early years to provide a solid foundation for future physical activities and sports. For this 7- week program we will be doing activities centered on the basics such as running, jumping, balancing and kicking in addition to activities which more resemble soccer.

Generally speaking, FMS can be grouped into the following categories:
Locomotor (running, hopping, skipping, etc.)
Non-Locomotor (balancing, and twisting, etc.)
Object-Control (Catching and throwing, kicking, etc.)

FMS Hierarchy:
  • Walking before running.
  • Balancing before twisting and rotating.
  • Rolling a ball before underarm throwing a ball.
  • Stopping a rolling ball before catching a ball.
  • Jumping before skipping.
Translated to soccer:
  • Standing on one foot is necessary for kicking or controlling a ball.
  • Underarm throwing facilitates awareness of passing by learning to face a target, knowing
  • release point, following through and recognizing ball flight.
  • Twisting and rotating is necessary for dribbling and eventually passing an opponent.
  • Catching leads to tracking and trapping of the ball.
